PLASTFREE ECO QUEEN- Ethical Fashion Round at Miss England 2020
In 2007, the Miss England National Director, Angie Beasley invented the Miss England ECO Round as not everyone can afford to buy expensive / designer clothes to compete in the contest . In this ethical round , contestants are invited to get creative and think about recycling . The national finalists are invited to source an outfit made from recycled materials/ clothing & make the outfit look stylish on the catwalk. Often the girls purchase clothing from charity shops or gather recycled materials to create some amazing colourful creations!
This year the pageant contestants have been working very hard to showcase their talent and vision for a sustainable future by creating amazing outfits for the Semi Finals. It is now time to revisit their creative skills and innovative ideas keeping eco-friendly and sustainable theme in mind. Plastfree is super excited to be sponsoring the PLASTFREE ECO QUEEN round.
We will be looking for not only the designing but how much effort and research one has put in to make a fashion statement using recyclable materials. In times when plastic pollution seems to be a worldwide epidemic, Plastfree wants to Be the Change by inspiring Miss England contestants to think out of the box and come up with something that can be wearable as well as addressing the plastic pollution problem to public!
